The banquet fol lowed the play, "A Lost Paradise," which was given Friday evening. Polly Bryan, a physical education department girl, was taken ill with appendicitis last Monday afternoon. She was taken immediately to the St. Elizabeth hospital and was operated upon last evening. Word has been received of the mar riage of Miss Hazel King of Sidney, Neb., and J. T. M. Pearson of Schuyler. Neb. Both are former students of the University where Mr. Pearson was a member of Delta Tau Delta and Mrs. Pearson was a member of Alpha Omi cron Pi. The annual party of Alpha Theta Chi was given Friday evening at the Lincoln hotel. Fifty couples, including a number of out-oftown guests, at tended the party. The chaperones were: Professor and Mrs. R, J. Pool of Lincoln, Mrs. C. F. Israel of Omaha and Mrs. E. Griswold of Lincoln. Mr. Ray A. Crancer left yesterday for Boise City, Idaho, where his mar riage to Miss Mamie Anderson will take place on the evening of January 27, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Anderson. Both the young people were formerly students. Miss Anderson is a member of the 'Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Mr. Crancer is a Phi Gamma Delta. Ve Are Having a Sale ! Wilson is, "Working Ones Way Through the University." "Every one works his way through the University of Texss. The grind finds nothing but work. It is all work for him; it is work or 'bust,' and wmetime it is work and bust The clever student works-the 'profs. He Bometime fails, but he count, on this. If he did not fail at times, his suc cesses would not be half so pleasurable.- The earnest and determined stu dent with more perseverance than money, with little enough sense to be- j lieve that he can go through the Uni versity and not enough for any one to convince him that he cannot, works not alone at his studies but also at some task or tasks whereby he makes his living expenses.
