GIVE BENEFIT CONCERT
Will Give Violin Recital for Benefit of
Bohemians Three Thousand
Dollars Raised In Omaha.
The Bohemians of Nebraska are
forming a relief fund for the Bo
hemians in Austria, and are making
good headway in the work. There is
a committee in charge of the work
here at the University composed of
the studepts who are selling statuettes
of Komensky, the famous Bohemian
educator. The committee Is com
posed of Bessie Strejc and Cyril J.
Ilrbek; they have collected about
Torty dollars up to this time and are
making more every day. In Omaha
the Bohemians have collected a fund
of three thousand dollars, and the
fund collected here at the University
will be added to this fund and sent
direct to the Bohemians In Austria.
The Bohemians have a hard lot, as
they must fight for the cause of Aus
tria and Germany. Like the Belgians,

George S. Aldrlch, senior In the Col
lege of Law, was married this week
to Miss Alberta Wyatt The wedding
took place In Omaha. Mr. Aldrlch Is
a son of ex-Governor C. H. Aldrlch
He is a member of the Delta Tau
Delta fraternity.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones have re
turned from their wedding trip and
are making their home at 2562 Cam
den avenue. Omaha. Mrs. Jones was
Miss Augusta Harnsberger of Ash
land. Both Mr. and Mrs. Jones gradu
ated from the University in 1909.
they can not fight for a cause that is
dear to them, but must fight as Aus
tria dictates. Accordingly, they are
rapidly being destroyed as a nation.
In many of the villages there is no
one left except the old men, cripples
and women. All the young men have
been killed, and if the present war
goes on much longer there will be
very few Bohemians left in Austria.
The committee here at the Univer
sity has announced that there will be
a concert in the studio of Prof. August
Molzer, a violinist in this city, and
the proceeds of this will go to the
Bohemian fund. The date for -this
concert will be announced in the Dally
Nebraskan later, as they do not ex
pect to give it until the week before
Christmas. The Bohemians are to be
congratulated upon the way in which
they are taking hold of the work of
relieving their unfortunate brothers in
the home land.

partment of philosophy, has been con
fined to his home for several days by
an attack of neuralgia, but Is improv
ing rapidly and will soon be back to
his duties at the University.
