Many students are unaware of the fact that every second and fourth Mon day of each month Prof. Sweezy, of the astronomy department, has the observatory open for those desiring to see the stars through the large observ atory telescope. The observatory on these evenings remains open from S to 10 p. m. At exactly 9 p. m. Prof. Sweezy gives a short talk, with lantern slides, upon what is seen on that even ing through the telescope. These talks are very interesting to those who hear them. In the past these opportunities have been appreciated more by the citizens of Lincoln than by the students. Prof. Sweezy estimates that the average at tendance has been between two and three hundred, a very large part of which have not been students. The next opportunity for observing the stars and hearing the lecture will be j on Monday, November 23, to which lecture Prof. Sweezy very earnestly ! invites the students.
