STUDENT COUNCIL MOVE- - - MENT8TILL WAXES HOT (Continued from pago 1.) this medium of common expression be tween studontB and faculty be main tained. Discussion of the report was par ticipated in not only by tho scoro of students present, but also by members of tho faculty. Dean Engborg was of the opinion that much could bo said on both sides of tho question, but that If tho powers of tho council wcro not too extensive and absolute, the council would provo very helpful. Chan Trlmblo expressed similar views, and Will Kavan suggested that a faculty veto would bo an effectivo chock upon absolutism. Tho reports, according to. Mp-. Kavan, show but little political domination of tho council in schools where tried, and ho was of tho opin ion that a little politics was all right anyhow. Professor Caldwell concluded tho discussion by expressing tho view that tho stu'dent council was necessary in order to make tho students feel re sponsibility for their conduct. After some discussion as to tho phrasing of the motion that should re flect tho action of a voluntary body, tho meeting decided to appoint a com- mitteo to issuo a call for tho selection of ten members from each class to form a constitutional convention for drafting tho new student government. It was alsd decided to havo a special Ibbuo of tho Rag devoted to tho coun cil and to call a mass meeting for tho purposo of determining student sentiment as a whole. Tho meeting adjourned with very llttlo feeling worked up on either side of tho ques tion. RUSSELL F. GREINER Russell F.
