In his lecture on tho physical sci
ences last night Dr. Ostwald spoke on

showed that tho size of the particles
In a fluid medium would produce dif
ferent colors and reflect different rnyB
of light. All known colors exist In
solutions and as tho size of the parti
cles decrease or increaso, every color
is revealed, Largo- particles produce
deeper and more intenco polors. The
size of the particles and the shape of
the crystals serve as a means of dls-
tlngulshfng between the various ele
ments. Dr. Ostwald's noxt lecture will bo
upon a method of determining tho size
of molecules In colloidal solutions.
