Forty-seven people have been
chosen for the cast of the Kosmet
play to be staged Friday night, May 1.
The, tryouts were held last week and
tho work of the judges has just been
completed. Owing to the large num
ber of talented contestants, tho com
mittee found it somewhat hard to
make the selections, which caused tho
delayv

pear again this season, but tho great
majority of the parts will go to now

The committee on student council
plans met again last night. They con
tinued the discussion of systems used
at other universities and tried to
formulate some definite plan of action
for Nebraska- AH Information re
ceived has been tabulated and placed
In form for rapid reference. Several
constitutions and many letters have
been analyzed and the material
"pigeon holed" In trying to get definite
plans for Nebraska use. The Investi
gation shows that there are three pos
sible, plans: First, a council might be
organized which would control all
lines of University activity, Including
the athletic board, publication board,
etc.; second, a body which would con
trol merely the ordinary or more gen
eral activities, that, Is much the same
work' 08 is now done by tho Innocents

council' at all the present system.
The third plan is, of course, given no
consideration. Nebraska is familiar

Competitive Teams Chosen Losers

A unique plan has been worked out
by tho officers of the University Y. M.
C. A. for a campaign to secure $1,500
within four days. The work will start
In earnest at noon Saturday at the
"round-up" mooting to be held In the
University Temple. Throe teams will
bo organized with a captain, chosen
by the finance committee, and three
lieutonants, chosen by the captain,
tho general secretary, and the chair
man of the Inanco committee In com
mand.
Members of the finance committee,
tho cabinet afid the "round-up," be
sides such additional membors as
shall bo deemed necessary by the
ytufX. will compose the teams. The
three captains, O. W. Sjogren, C. H.
Anderson and Herbert S. Reese, will
each take a third of tho nameB in the
Student Directory and work his team
to the point where every man will
have been reached. Dally moetlngs
will be held for tho purpose of check
ing up tho progress of tho campaign
and relating profitable Qchqtnes and
experiences.

circulating the camp petitions. Cold
weather does not appeal as camp
weather and the avorago soldier can

half nipped. Sleeping on the warm,
crisp hay Is not full of Inviting Bonsa
tlons, either, during the same winter
conditions.
However, the Interest Is not all gone

morrow fqr a short homo vacation.
Registrar Rutledge has announced
that all classeB will be dismissed on
next Monday, Charter Day, and that
the day will be given over to a cele
bration of the founding of tho Univer
sity of Nebraska.
The Board of Regents will hold their
annual meeting some Umq during the
day; In the, afternoon there will bo
an Indoor athletic meet in the Armory,
and in tho evening a program will bo
held at the St. Paul's church.
This will bo the only holiday before
the Spring vacation.
