The editorial and business staffs for The Daily Nebraskan for the second semester were elected yesterday noon by the publication board. They will assume their new duties on the paper February 3 with the first issue of the new five-colunm paper. Only one of the six men on the new staff has served In any official capacity on The Nebraskan before. So it Is a thoroughly new group of men that will edit the daily next semester. Reed B. Dawson, the newly elected editor-in-chief, is a senior, In the Arts nud Science college. He was a mem ber of the winning team In the annual debute against Minnesota, and has been prominent politically in his class. He is a member of Sliver Lynx. P. Craig Spencer, managing editor, for the beiond semester, is a freshman law. During the past year he was manager and editor of the Cody En terprise, a semi-weekly paper in Cody, Wyo. He ib a member of Phi Delta Phi and Alpha Theta Chi. Misb Ruth Squires, the first associ ate editor, is a senior in the Arts and Science college and has helped in the woman's department for several se mesters. Richard Koupal, second as sociate editor, has reported on The Nebraska during the past semester. He is a member ot Sigma Phi Epsllon. Frank S. Perkins, who has been in charge ot the business end ot The Daily Nebra.skan lor the past three months, huh selected as business man ager lor the ensuing semester. Ho is Junior in the Arts and Science col lege and a member of Sigma Chi fra ternity. Russel Clark, the asslaut business manager, has had consider able experit m e on the stall ot the Awgwan. He is a junior in the Arts .and Science college. Old Staff Retires. For the men who have put out a paper every day of publication during the last semester, the new five-column paper is their farewell. They have worked along with all other Rag staffs for years to Improve the paper, to put it on a paying basis, to enlarge it that it might be a credit to the school and now they present a sample of what may be done with student sup port. There was a second daily the Wisconsin Daily News, which has just been consolidated with the Daily Cardinal. The circulation of the Daily Cardinal now is undoubtedly over 2000 daily. OUR AGREEMENT If the subscription list reaches 1 500 by Saturday at 5 P. M., Jan. 3 1 st the Daily Nebraskan will be increased from a four column to a five column news paper for the entire semester.
