A STUDENT CONVOCATION.
In announcing the convocation for
this morning, it will be noticed that
.two students are to be on the program.
Thl.-. is the (list student convocation
which lias been on the boards Tor
several years. Students have taken
the initiative on several special oc
casions, such as freshmen caps and
other problems, but for students to
take charge of tlie general convocation
is a decided inmnation It is hoped
that students generally will realize
this, and turn out to give their own
"prophets" due honor. The committee
on coin oration is literally taking ad
vantage of the widespread move for
student rights, and submits this con
tention period for their approval. It
is the time for the assertatlon of
student sentiment, which hopes later
to nianaue and control Itself.

THAT PROM.
The Junior prom is evidently a prob

tickets, the committee puts the (pies

The Nebraskan still believes that it
would be economy, safety, and general
good policy to hold one combined up
per-class or better yet, all-universitv
-prom, than to have two ordinary
dances with full dress equipment and
better programs. The junior commit
tee pleads that under the debt which
the class is under contract to remove,
it would be Impossible to work a com
bination. The senior committee has
as yet vouchsafed no conclusion. Still,
The Nebraskan would like to see the
committee get together, or the classes
concerned take some action on the
matter. The combined prom of last
year was a move in the right direction.

HEROES, ALL.
Each man whop lanked across three
bones and togged up in his battle re
galia (full dreBs -and otherwise) for
the military ball may feel a bit of
pride. Each man was pleasantly guilty
of doing a favor to his country. For
the financial report shows that just
twenty-five coppers went to the treas

one man failed to do his duty, shirked
