THE CORNHUSKER BANQUET.
All out, fellows, to celebrate the
lfii: football successes and to banquet
the trans Mississippi champions. With
in the next few days you will be asked
to buy jour ticket for the annual
Cornhusker banquet. Remember that
it is not every year In which you will
have the chance to celebrate the vie
toiies ol this season that old timers
would jihe a good deal to have the
same hance that is ottered jou now.
And that those victories bae not been
appropriately recognized by the stu
dents of the university While the
team fought against great odds all the
season, winning In the end bj a mag
nificent total against the baldest sched
ule which Cornhusker-: have met in
years, the attitude ol the slu 'ents
themselves has appeared to be one of
complacent approbation rather than
one of joy and Ide. Alumni have
asked attain and again what was dam
pening the spirit of the fans, sajing
that something muM be radicallv
wrong with a student body which did
not recognize the work and merit of
the team.
The spirit is here, all right, and the
student body is alive to the fact that
the team has fulfilled the highest ex
pectations of its supporters Now it
remains to cry.-tali.e that spirit, to ex
press that recognition, while t In mem
ory of the year is still at ban 1. There
is no excuse other than outiight in
difference which will suffice to prevent
a man's attendance. And so, on the
banquet tag day, be prepared to get
that ticket, and join the gang.
N. H. The gang will all be there.
