Prof. Malcolm Q. Wyer. Professor
Wyer comes from the Iowa State Uni
versity, where ho held tho office of
head Librarian, holds A. M. and A. B.
degrees from tho University of Minne
sota, and is a graduate of tho New
York State Library School.

fessor Allway in the agricultural chem
istry department, the latter having left
for the University of Minnesota. In
the forestry department Professor
Duppert is succeeded by Professor
Childs. Instructor Lofschotz, having
accepted an offer in tho mathematical
department of tho University of Kan
sas, his place will be filled by In
structor Blumberg.
Two important positions in the wo
men's departments have been changed.
Miss Bessie L. Park, coming from
Courtland, N. Y., will succeed to the
place of Miss Anna Day In tho women's
physical education department. MIsb
Park was last year acting director of
tho women's physical education de
partment at tho University of Texas.
Miss Alice B. Ensign, who was re
cently married and is now living in
Chicago, 1b followed this year by Miss
Mary K. Graham. Miss Graham is a
graduate of Nebraska, and after taking
her degree In '09 taught In the chemls
tery department for two years as the
private assistant of Chancellor Avery,
who was then in the chemistry depart
ment. Since that time she has been
teaching chemistry In tho high Bchool
of her homo town of Dayton, Ohio.
A very noticeable number of mar
riages have occurred in tho faculty
during tho summer respite. Coach
Stlehm was married shortly after tho
end of the school year to Miss Marie
Douglas of Plattsmouth, who formerly
attended Nebraska for two years.
Likewise Dewey Harmon, of recent
football fame and now assistant foot
ball coach, recently entered the state
of conublal bliss. Assistant Registrar
Vancil K. Greer was married to Miss
Hetta Carroll of Taloga, Okla. Pro
fessor Hoffman of the Engineering
school also recently became the center
of congratulations.
Tho new law building is the contor
of very activo labor In preparation for
its occupancy by tho Laws. Globes aro
being fitted over the lights, iron book
shelves aro being set against tho walls
of the library on tho third floor, and
scats and desks of hardwood and Iron
structure aro being fastoned to tho
floors of tho lecturo rooms. As soon
aa tho fixtures are placed the building
will bo complete.
A few small alterations have been
made in the older campus buildings.
Now stairs have been placed in tho
east end of the gymnasium leading to
tho gallery. In the office of tho elocu
tion department a potltion has divided
the large room into two sections. Tho
third floor of University building, for
merly occupied by tho law department,
will now contain tho geography and
geological departments. Tho medical
school has been entirely moved to
Omaha.

This year promises to be an especially bright one for The
Nebraskan and the business and editorial management
promise a better and possibly a larger paper than in previous
years.
The subscription price of the paper will be the same as in
former years, one dollar a semester, payable in advance.
For the benefit of the students who wish to become sub
scribers to the Daily Nebraskan, circulation men will be sta
tioned at desks in prominent places about the buildings and
campus, to take subscriptions.
The Daily Nebraskan is published every day except Sun
day and Monday and is distributed to its subscribers from the
post office situated in the east wing of the University Hall.

Word was received in Lincoln re
contly from Prof. Lawrence Bruner,
head professor of entomology, who Is
traveling in Japan. When tho letter
was written, ho was in Yokohoma.
He aaid that ho was enjoying Japan
greatly. Ho oxpocts to spend two
months In the Philippines, returning
to Lincoln In December.
