Racely Unable to
Enter Handicap Meet
Held This Afternoon
Nebraska track stock took another
slump last night when George Racely
tore the muscles loose in his left leg
as he was finishing his workout for
the da The injury although not pre
venting him from using that member
Is quite painful and will keep him out
of track work the rest of the season
A similar injury last year kept him
from finishing the season. This acci
dent will be a great handicap to the

The squad which first reported has
diminished but little and In order to
reward them for their efforts Coach
Stlehin has proposed to give prizes
or trophys to the winners in a spring
foot bdll contest to be held soon. In
this contest It Is planned to havo sev
eral events, Including punting for dis
tance, drop kicking, and passing tho
ball In the punting and drop kick
ing contests the winners aro to be
presented with loving cups.

Tho track was in fine condition last
evening from tho previous packing
rains and the weather permitting,
some good work will be seen on the
Athletic field today in the handicap
meet which starts at 2 o'clock.
Quito a number of men havo" en
tered the hundred yard dash and the
handicaps ranging all the way from
two to six yards. The other races
havo handicaps in proportion to the
distance run. The total number of
entries for the moot today number
more than seventy-five.
Tho following five named candidates for Councilmen are the only ones
who are unconditionally pledged to the municipal ownership platform, and
are endorsed by the Municipal Ownership League.
