TENNIS FOR GIRLS. -fc
University Girls TpiiiiIb Association
was formed two years ago. It has, at
present, an enrollment of ahout sixty
members. Owing to the fact, however,
that the girls have tho use of only ono
court, but a small percentage of tills
number is ablo to arrange playing
hours. At a tournament held last fall
Miss Hazel Mellck carried off the
trophy. Subsequently, she was defeat
ed by the champion of last year, Miss
Lottie Savage who still holds the
championship. Because of the late
ness of tho season and the inadequate
accommodations for practice, It Is Im
probable that a spring tournament will
he held.
What Nebraska needs Is more and
hetter located tennis courts. It Is
hoped that, when the question of ex
tension Is finally settled, Bomo pro
vision will bo made for this deserving
sport.
