Engineers Determine
Stress and Strain on

week. All the shop men arc taking
he day off, and improving tho time

two games this morning and one in
the afternoon The civil engineers
play the men from the agricultural
engineering department, and the elec
trioals meet the mechanicals this
morning. The winners of these two
games play for the championship at
the State Farm this afternoon
The four teams have been practis
ing for some time and good games
are assured. There is a great deal i
of rivalry between the various depart-1
ments This is as noticeable in the

spectacle of a professor wildly
excited over an athletic contest may
be seen today.
j. S. Phares is in charge of the ball
games. The captains of the teams
nre: C. E.'s, V. C. Keirle; Ag Engrs.
W. A. Nelson, M. E 's, L (' Lichty;
E E.'s, Gecrge Wilson. Krajicek will
pitch-, for the (' E 's and Lichly for
tho M E.'s. The other pitchers have
not been definitely decided upon.
The shop men have charge of con
vocation, also, this morning People
coming out of University hall at the
close of 10 o'clock classes will be
greeted by the classical music of Ted
Sullivan and his "Old German Rand,"
who will entertain them for ten min
utes before convocation.
At the convocation. Dean Stout will
preside. The Engineer's quartet will
sing several catchy songs and
"Squill" Owen will offer a recitation
Professor Tuckerinan is also on the
program and should prove a drawing
card:' Sigma Tau, the honorary En
gineering society, will present the col
lege with a portrait of General Dud
ley, one of Nebraska's first command
ants, and who gave the first engineer
ing instructions in the University V.

The championship game at the farm
starts at 2.T0 p in, the engineers
leaving Thirteenth and () streets at
2 15 o'clock.
