Military Section to
Be Most Complete of
Any Ever Attempted
'Hip militaij section of the LtL?
Cornhusker will be tlio most
complete and thp best arranged of
any over printed in a university an
mini. It will try to place upon that
section the importance that it holds
in thp departmpnts of the University,
and it will try to exprpss the new
spirit that has been instilled into that
department by the new commandant.
ICach company will have two pages,
also two pages will be devoted to the
band, thp Riflp club and .np Pershing
Kiup.s. Thp commandant, rpginiPntal
staff and thp departmental stuff will
all bo given due prominence. The
whole will occupy more than thirty
pagps
An innovation in the coming edition
will be the honor to be tendered to
the regimental, battalion and com
pany sponsors. Seventy five indivi
dual picturps of sponsors and officers
will pnter into the scheme. Unlike
any other year the company pictures
have all been taken at a Btudio at a
considerable expense, but the splen
did resultH will give such satisfaction
that it ia thought that the heavy out
lay will be justified
On one page will be the company
picture and on the opposite will be
the picture of the company sponsor
.surrounded by the company officers.
The regimental and battalion sponsors
will be flanked bv their respective
staffs This arraj is epe ted to eclipse
Governor Moiehead's squad of
"Colonels" in the inaugural parade at
Washington
Several pages will be devoted to the
high life in camp Also several car
toons depicting the joys of night
marches, etc. etc
Considerable difficulty had been ex
perienced in getting out the officers
and sponsors. The individual modesty
in almost every case had to be over
come and the person convinced that
it was all for the good of the cause
to have that particular person's pic
ture printed. One or two companies
have not yet been photographed but as
soon as Old Sol puts in an appearance
the companies will be taken care of.

UNI BAND PLAYS TONIGHT
(Con'il. uod from Page 1)
a senior in the University and scarcely
more than of age, he was appointed
leader of the local band, then known
as the Hagenow band, with which he
was able to take first prize at the na
tional M YV A encampment at Mil
waukee in competition with many of
the large bands of the United States
Two years ago he took charge of the
University band and during that time
the improvement therein has been a
matter of general comment
Constantly since the football season
the band has been practicing music in
preparation for tonight's concert '
Twice this year it has appeared before
in convocation in programs conceded
to be the best ever given in the chapel, i
and some time ago won the marked
appreciation of the legislative club ban
quet in a concert before that body. I
One of the most widely anticipated
i
numbers of the program is the singing
of Miss Lillian Helms, whose work iH
a subject of universal praise to local
audiences. Reserve seats may be had
in the Temple at the cost of twenty- '
five cents. . I
