Dr. Iuira Hamilton, a prominent physician of Iowa City, was a cam piiH visitor Saturday Of the proposed changes in courses of study which will be acted upon by the board of regents at their next meeting, one of the most important is the establishment of a course In architectural engineering This Is a four-year course and, if it is approved, the work will he offered next Sep tember. That there is a demand for such a course is shown by the popularity of the class in Architectural Drawing, given under Professor Slaymaker last year. In the past few years Nebras ka has lost many students, who, af ter one or two years here, have gone to other schools where they could get instruction In architecture. Undoubt edly the proposed course would in crease the registration In the Engi neering College. The Ilrst year's work In this course, as planned, is the same as in the other engineering groups. The work in the other three years will be de signed for a man who wishes a good engineering education and desires to specialize In architecture. The school of line arts will co-operate with the engineering college in offering the courses in this grouj). Mr. Dumont is also a contract ing engineer for the Omaha Struc tural Steel Co. Mr. James II. Cook of Sioux county, visited the museum yesterday. Mr. Cook Is the owner of the famous "bone quarries" near Agate, Nebras ka, and has donated many valuable specimens to the University collection. Mrs. Mary Love Collins, grand president, and Mrs Helen Streeter Huntington of Kearney, are Chi Omega visitors this week. Wolcott entertained the zoological seminar at IiIb home last levelling. Dr. Wolcott gave a resume of his recent trip to the Association of Scientists. Mr. F. M. Hall, who was influential in securing the Lincoln monument for the city, has loaned his cast of the statue to the Fine Arts School. It will be available for use as a model by students In the school during the coming semester. Robert Graham, '11, has just Mu lshed the work of modeling the head of a Rocky Mountain sheep for the German Society of Lincoln. The scarc ity of these animals makes them so valuable that this plan of modeling the head onto an old pair of horns has to be used.
