Yells.
Damjx'iiiiiK weather did not lessen
the customary Nebraska spirit at the
football rally held yesterday morning
in Memorial Hall for the Kansas Aggie
game In spite of the weather a large
crowd of loyal Nebraskans were in at
tendauce
"Hiddy" Meade and "Moke" Coffee,
the new yell leaders elected by the In
noeents, led in the yells and pave pep
to the assemblage In fact, the rally
showed pep from start to finish
Chancellor Avery opened the meet
ing in his customary vigorous style
and told how the team was going to
beat the Aggies and how the rooters
could aid them by their rooting
Coach Stiehm was not so optimistic
in his iews as he formerly has been,
but he assured them the squad was
going into the game for victory Cries
for "We want Captain Frank" forced
that quiet natured person to the plat
form, and he assured them that the
team was up against one of the hard
est games oT the season The rooters
assured him by three lusty cheers that
they would do their part.
Dr Condra, whose absence would
make a rally incomplete, gave his cus
tomary "pepperbox" address. He put
pep into the audience by leading in
cheers for the Chancellor, the team,
and gave the freshmen a chance to
Hhow their vocabulary power with
"U U UNI."
With a selection from the band the
first rally of 1912 closed.
Metcalf Addresses Wilson Club.
H. S Metcalf addressed the Univer
sity Wilson and Marshall Club at their
headquarters, 121(5 N street, last night
His talk was on the opinions of the
three candidates for the presidency on
the leading questions of the campaign
