"MORE SCARED THAN HURT' Comparatively Few Cases of Real Typhoid, But Most of Illness of a Minor Nature. Chancellor Avery has made u com plete and thorough Investigation of the typhoid situation in the University of . Nobraska. which, he completed Thursday, and roportu the following results: There are Indeed many cases of typhoid fever among students who nro attending the Unlvorslty. But by far the greater majority of the students Nvho are ;iow ill are Suffering from pneumonia, la grippe, or vory severe colds. They have not typhoid, nor are they likely to have It, but are 111 through their own negligence In tuk ing cure of themselves. It Is not known whother later symptoms have failed to confirm tho typhoid diagnosis In other cases, but proBumably some of them have not de veloped tho genuine disease. Stu dents, professors, and physicians are especially requested to look over the list and report to tho Chancellor's ofllco any of these Instances, and also omissions, of which there are undoubt edly some. Most of the additions since the list of January 12 was given to the public have been cases whore tho patient was stricken some time ago, but whore the roport was held back by the physician pending con firmation. "Gus Lindberg, an assistant at the State Farm, Is the only employe of the institution known to have the disease. "The list includes students at the University Farm.
