The powers that be have decided to
give tho poor University another tra
dition this year on condition that it
wiU"become an' annual affair. "Tlio
Trail1' is to be substituted for the
"County Fair." No graft or hold-up
stunts Will be permitted, although the
admission price is to be kept.
Historical Pageant.
As it is 'now planned, "The Trail"
will be a kind of a historical pageant
representing all stages of American
life from cowboys to high society.
Each club and society will bo alldwed
to 'give a stunt as hitherto, but it must
be in keeping with the general idea.
Japanese girls, Chili Con Carnlo and
other foreign luxuries will be strictly
tabooed. ..,
"Tho Trail" haB been sot for Febru
ary 10th. The, date ..will bo kept free
from other engagements by MIbb En
sign. The object is" lo create an All
University affair and the proceeds will
go .towards the running expenses of

posed as the source of the epidemic.
-The local milk supply has been sug-'
gested, but examination has proved
that there Ms little basis for this
theory, Bad meat was pronounced to
be one cause of tho sickness before
vacation, but tho meat inspectors have
T)een so busy sinco then that little,
probability is attached to this.
The city water is the most likely
source; For .two years bacterfologjstB
have -condemned the water supply of
Lincoln, but little has been done by
the local authorities to purify it.
Epidemics of typhoid have been fre
quenf'oyer the entre city jevery year.
Doctors have objected and health au
