morning at convocation on "Farm Llfo
in Nebraska." HIb words recolved the
usual hearty Tecoption. Referring to
the time when he was connected with
the school through the Chemistry De
partment, he recalled that ho and Dr.
Alway had estimates that in tho top
twenty feet of Nebraska soil there
waB $60,000 worth of fertilizing ma
terial, to tho acre.
In speaking of tho incentives to se
curing an education, ho did not lay
any espocial emphasis on tho financial
side. "However, it must bo recog
nized that tho men who occupy the
high-salaried positions are tho pro
duet of the schools. But if one de
sires an education merely for tho rov-
onuo it. will yield perhaps ho had beat
