BANQUET' CHEAT SUCCESS
Tho CornhuBkor Banquet, hold Sat
urday night at tho Auditorium, marks
a new era in tho All-University func
tions of this school. It was tho
largest and most pretentious banquet
over hold In Lincoln.
Nearly ono thousand students and
alumni attended and gavo vont to
their school spirit through numerous
songs and yells.
Promptly at seven o'clock,the doors
wore opened, and tho band struck up
"U-XT-U-N-I." Tbo Michigan support
ers took thoir scats at a table espe
cially prepared for them; tho No
braskans - occupied tho remaining
tables. Amid thunderous choers tho
two teams and respective coaches
filed in and took their seats on tho
. stage.
The Michigan yell was hoard at reg
ular intervals, and to tho credit of tho
Cornhusker supporters it may bo said
that it camo as often from thoir
throats as it did from thoso of tho
rightful owners.
Tho speakers, especially thoso from
Michigan, wero greatly impressed by
tho magnitude and spirit of tho ban
qnct, to say nothing of tho outcomo
of tho gamo. In tho minds of thoso
who havo watched tho progress of tho
University, this banquet did raoro to
bring beforo tho public tho importance
of Nobraska than any other non-athletic
event over held.
Nebraska's co-eds turned out on
masso to tho banquet, more than glad
ly availing themselves of tho privilege
