Kansas University has received the
resignation of Manager W. C. Lans
don according to press dispatches re
ceived from Lawrence. Ho Is one of
tho oldest athletic managers In the
Missouri vnlloy and his resignation,
will bo noted with regret by all
athletic dopsters In tho valley.
It is generally understood by his
friends at Kansas that ho will sever
his connections with tho athletic as
sociation by October 1, In order to All
tho position of general manager of
the Central Kansas Publishing Com
pany at Salina, Kansas.
For the past six years, Mr. Lans
don has boon general manager of all
athletics. Wlion his, successor takes
charge of that position, ho will And
plans laid for university athletics
through the football season which is
' regarded as the hardest of tho Bports
to handle from tho manager's point of
