What our paper has been Is a matter of history which will soon be forgotten. What tho Nobraskan of next year will bo dopendB on the support you give It. Tho year which Is drawing to a close has been an eventful one. It has wit nessed the Inauguration of University Night, Junior Week, and Dandelion Day. Glorious conquests have .been made in athletics and debate The real Nebraska spirit has grown warm er and its effect has been most evi denced by the success which has at tended us. These new things will one day be traditions, but they have not detracted from tho customs which al ready existed. They cannot be In jurious so long as they tend to pro mote a feoling of commonality among the students. In connection, we may say that It was with regret wo wit nessed tho untimely end of the plan for band concerts on tho campus. While wo reviow tho past there Is perhaps ono thing which in a measure goes to mar our retrospect. It is that Incident of tho last few days, which reflects the corruption of a time that Ib gone. That It should havo ever arisen Is to be lamented. But as long as jealousies and hatreds are rife among men, nnd as long as there are men who will sacrlflco eyery good principle and even the name of their Institution to feed the unsatiable ap petite of vengeance, as long as such conditions exist such results must be expected. As a parting word we first wish you good luck in your examinations. But most of all we hope that when you disperse to your separate homes you will not forget your university or the NobraBkan. When the fall term opens wo hope to see you baok with us who do not go out with diplomas. We hope to Bee you back with us who do not go out with diplomas. We also hope a wonderful sight to see ouch a large number of children from tho kinder garten ago to those of high school years playing on tho green lawns at tho Farm. The cadot band more than pleased the little ones, who do not get a chance every, day to seo sixty men in military costume. The band wns out for an all-day holiday which was enjoyed by over 1,000 childron. THE LOST CLA88.' Young Man Prepared Paper to Read But Audience Was Gone. Fate played a mean trick on a prominent young man of the univer sity yesterday. He was to read a pa per before the sociology class which Is conducting a series of investiga tions. Ho had worked hard to get- his data and to write tho paper. He rose from a sick bed at 4 o'clock, the hour when the class convened. But he could not find the class. Every build ing on the campus wns searched in vain. He could not see how the clasB would adjourn on such an Important occasion just to witness a competitive drill. But it Was all too true and the class may not meet again this year. Tho scare over a possible epidemic of diphtheria at Michigan is gradu ally dying out, no new cases having developed.
