FACULTY TITLE CHANGES
PROMOTIONS MADE, RESIGNA
TIONS ACCEPTED AND OTHER
BUSINESS DONE BY BOARD.
Numerous .title changes have been
niade for faculty members. This was
done at the Tuesday session of the
board of regents. The following .is a
condensed resume- of the work of the
board:
The president of the board' was re
quested by vote to write a letter to
the political clubs explaining why the
board deems It inexpedient to repeal
the rule prohibiting political gather
ings on the campus.
Resignations were received from
Professor W. O. U Taylor, head pro
fessor of political economy and com
merce, to take effect Sept. 1, 1911;
Dean C. It. Richards, dean of the en
gineering college, to take effect Sept.

Resolutions wore adopted express
ing the regret of the board at the res
ignation of Dean Richards.
A petition of the military depart
ment to bo permitted to charge a fee
of $1.00 per year for each cadet, waB
referred to the chancellor with power

Consideration of a report or the sen
ate committee on remodeling the Tem
ple for social affairs, of tho subject of
farmers' institutes and of the sub-stations
were postponed until the noxt
meeting of the board.
The following ad interim appoint
ments of tho chancellor wore con
firmed: Emma Wllhelmson, fellow in
education; William "J. Duppert, in
structor in forestry (detailed from U.
S. government).
Resolutions of appreciation of the
work of Professor Davlsson, and of
sympathy for Mrs. Davlsson and rela
tives, were adopted.
Resolutions of sympathy for Regent
Haller on the death of his mother
were adopted.
New appointments were made as
follows: James E. Le Rosslgnol, head
professor of political economy and
commerce; H. A. Evans, purchasing
agent.
The following members of the facl
ulty were granted, leave of absence:

Webster, B. E. Moore, A. D. Sherag.
All of these represent, going ,-a little
early or returning a little lato on vaca
tion trips.
