May 8 is the date set for the annual election of members of the university of Nebraska athletic hoard. Although this election will not come for over a month, numerous candidates, are be ing mentioned for tho board member ship and so mo mon have gone so far as to announco their candidacy. Five men yesterday announced their intention of running for member ship on the athletic board. Robert M. Swltzlcr, Wayne Carrol, E. Z. Horn berger, Sam Buck dnd Harry R. An keny are announced biddefs, and V. C. Hascall 1b being urged to enter the rnco. Who Has Announced. Switztor Is a member of Phi Kappa Psl fraternity. He is at present on the roportorlal force of the Lincoln Dally Star and 1b athletic correspond ent for the Omaha World-Herald, St. Paul DiBpatch, Denver Times and Council Bluffs Nonpareil. Carrol is n member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and is an enthusiastic sup porter of Cornhusker athletics. Ankeny Is a. track athlete and has been on. the class football team. He is a. member of Delta Chi fraternity. Hornberger wob a guard on the 1010 football team and will probably be ft cimdldato for the center position on the 1911 squad. He is not a fra ternity man. Buck Is a member of Phi Gamma Dolta fraternity. He Is a newspaper man of experience and is well up op athletic dope, both intercollegiftto and national. STATE ENGINEER TALKS. Engineering Society Listens to Ad dress by Robert Harvey. Robert Harvey, state engineer, ad dressed the Engineering society last night on "The Relocation of Original Corners." Ho spoke on tho mothodB used In the first laying out of all the meridians In tho United States. He also described the instruments UBed and explained the various reasons for corners being relocated by different surveyors not agreeing. By the aid of drawings he explained the methods of laying out section and quarter sec tion corners and relocating them after being" lost. His lecture was very in structive and Interesting and was heard by a. good sized audience. Baseball, Sophomores.
