point, and because of the large num
ber who take part there Is no phase
of these problems which is not
brought up. Bosldes being Instruc
tive, the sessions are Interesting and
entertaining, and many humorous In
cidents break tho monotony.
The opportunity to attend the legis
lature comes once In two years. Tho
University of Nebraska is fortunate
in being located at tho capital where
it can havo theso .advantagQs. Many
of the Institutions in other states tro
situated at a distance from tho seat of
government and It is necosBary to
make special excursions. Thero Is no
necessity for this at Nebraska and it
Is left to the Individual to use his
time to the bem advantage. One of
theso nice days when you do not care
to do hard wprk and Just want to Bit
around to loaf, make a trip to tho
state house and spend the time in a
profltablo as well as an entprtaining
wny.
If there Ib anything in tho "dope,"'

It seems like the number of frolor.
nlties at Nebraska has almost reachod
the limit. If there are too many -It
Vougd bo Imppsstblc to maintain n
hlgh standnrd In personnel. So many
men will bo required ovory year thai
alt tho competition will be on the side
of tho fraternities, desiring pledges.
A state of circumstances will be cre
ated which Is hardly desirable. The
organizations should not bo placed in
tho position of looking for the men,
but It should rather be the ense of
the men looking for the fraternity
The present number Is not likely to
bo a disadivantnge since tho school is
Increasing in attendance, If a stand
ard of excellence Is maintained. It is
not desirable to havo every mnn in
tho school a member of some frater
nity, and further organization along
this lino should be dono with caution.
