VENTILATION.
Sanitary conditions In an Institu
tion like tho university are Important
details, to which a great deal or at
tention must bo paid. Among the
things which can be regulated by the
students as weU -as the faculty mem
bers Is proper ventilation of the reci
tation rooms. Forty to fifty people
closely Beated In a room soon use up
all tho oxygen, and tho effect on the
students Is soon observed. Drowsi
ness Ib apparent, as well as listless
neBB. The cold weather makes It dlf
llcult to leave the windows opon, and
because or this many of the recita
tion rooms are poorly ventilated, re
sulting In poor work on the part of
nutny of the students, and At the same
nine " lllel r" Til fere s C "lntl e ' lecture or
recitation Is almost nil. Little things
like this orton aro a menace to health,
both mentally and physically.
