Wo hopo that in tho near future
Kansas and Missouri will have tho
little argument over tho Thanksgiving
game settled. TIiIb constant quibbling
over the rcBUlts ol a football game
sounds liko a crowd of school boys
playing marbles, and does more to in
juro tho game than anything else.

fountains already, but if tho girls
would get busy and raise "enough"
money to put real cold water in them,
wo thursty ones would bo much
obliged. Minnesota Daily.
Nothing like that at Nebraska. We
havo tho fountains, tho water, and
what is more, the fountains are sanitary.
When basketball season opens up
after tho holiday vacation, tho efforts
of tho CornhuBkers to retrieve all
lOBt honors and bring victory to tho
Scarlet and Cream should receive the
support of every Nobrasknn. Just as
in the football season the support of
tho undergraduates Is needed. Ne
braska has a chance to win victory
after victory this year and tho men
are entering the season full of vim
and vigor enough to win the Missouri
Valley championship in basketball if

lng school for nurses. A hospital for
Nebraska would help somewhat, but
we need bo many things it is hard to
decide as to what to enumerate first.
May tho day come when tho university
has so much money that nothing will
bo wanting which will bo an aid to
higher and better education.

Then two weoks of reBt, followed by
tho last lap of the semester's race.
What will tho resultTbo? Will any
bo outdistanced? Will anyone bo so
thoughtless as to pass by their grea't
"opportunity -and fall-to-como-up to a
reasonable standard, thus compelling
those in authority to ask for their
absenco in school affairs?
Tho formation of a wrestling club
at tho university is but another atop
towards tho centralization of things
at tho university- for tho benefit of tho
institution as a whole. Tho Pencing
club, tho Forestry club, the Engineer
ing society, tho Dramatic club, the
College Equal Suffrage league, and all
other similar organizations- tend to
make the school a unit composed of
beneficial student societies and clubs.

Tho efforts of university men to
pasB the Rhodes scholarship examina
tions should bo appreciated by more
of tho members of tho student body.
The scholarship in itself means
more than can be estimated at first,
and not until tho matter has boon
given careful consideration can due
appreciation be credited to the man
who is successful In passing the ex
aminations. To Harold B. English tho students
of tho University of Nebraska give
their best wishes and the desire that
ho bo chosen is the sentiment of all,
As a Nebraska man, and added to
that the fact that he Is a Cornhusker,
iff enough to the Btudentrbody-towiBh
him success.
Tho tendency to abolish h'acks for
formal parties and dances Is ono of
the best moves started at the univer
sity. "Puss and feathers" are all
right, but tho fraternities and sorori
ties of this school are composed of
students who aro sensible in their
views, and they havo perceived that
things of this sort can be carried to
tho extreme. Sound common sense
demands that hacks for -formal univer
sity affairs bp placed on tho retired
HstMand when tho final action in the
matter comes, as it mustMn the very
near future, more honor will bo added
to work of tho organizations of the
Greek letter societies, for making
this move.
