week with the debating squad of the
University of Nebraska. Glad indeed

sible to these young fellows. Grilling
as was tho examination, I shall al
ways look back upon it as one of the
pleasanteBt experiences of my life.

tho only thing I can liken to the way
they fired their questions is tho way a
gatling gun section gets busy when in
action.
"Tho questions wore not haphazard,
for a dozen committees havo been in
vestigating, each a separate phase of
tho 'open shop vs. closed shop' ques
tion, and each committee wanted to
know the whys and tho wherefores.
The answers had to bo to the point,
too. If it wasn't clear, they simply
hammered away until they got all the
information 'possible which was usu
ally not a great deal, but the very best
I had in stock.

"But, after all, the most pleasing
feature of the whole thing is that the
