"Kansns Cannot Win" was the slo
gan which was born yesterday at the
football rally In Memorial hall. The
rally was better attended than any
this season. The room was crowded.
Studonts to tho number of hundreds

back of tlio room, and a number of
men occupied seats in the windows.

overflowing.
At the opening of tho rally, tho team
was called to the platform. While the
players were getting seated' on the
platform some students became en
thusiastic and managed to call out all
-sorts of things. Cries of, "Stolk, let'B
see Stolk," wore hoard from tho south
eldo of the room, but tho big sopho
more was conspicuously absent. At
least ho was not ushered to the platform.
Dr. Edwin Maxey Bpoke on the "His
tory of tho Qame." Bon Chefrlngton
was also called upon for a few re
marks. Captain Jack Temple sold that
ho and the rest of the boys would' do
their best tit Kansas and wanted the
support of Nebraskarooters.
The real event of tho rally waB the
short speech by "Dog" Eager, Nebras
ka's popular athletic manager. Eager
explained tho arrangements for tho
special train to Kansas. He urged stu
dents who wanted to bo loyal to go t
Iawxcnce for tho big game. Tho faro
will be only $7.50. Pullman tourist
and regular ears wlll'mako up the" spe
cial train. Cars will have to he or
dered from the Union . Pacific head
quarters at Omaha not later than
Thursday night. It is, therefore, im
portant that berths be engaged and
tickets purchased at once. The spe
cial will eave Fridays evening nnd
reach- Lawrence before tho arrival, of
tho team. It is planned for tho excur
sionists to moot the Cornhuskors and
