The senior class enjoyed an
outing in the way of a picnic
last Wednesday. They went t
"Ray's Place," about six miles
from Norfolk, an ideal spot f ,
picnic, overlooking the Klkhorn
river.
Memorial exercises were ob
served in all the schools Friday
afternoon. Mr. .1. W, Bovee. in
behalf of the 0. A. It. post and
other contributors presented the
high school with a large, hand

English Olub Considering Its
Publication.
The English Club of the uni
versity is considering the propo
sition of publishing a university
literary magazine. The mutter
has been under consideration for
some time and will be definitely
taken up at the next meeting.
Miss ICstellt' Morrison has been
elected editor of the magazine in
its present tentative form. jThe
main dilliculty which the club
faces is getting out a publication
of this kind is in securing Mho
student support. The difficulty
which the Daily Nebraskan has
encountered in paying out leads
to some misgivings as to the prac-

Mouthers of the senior class of
the. high school, the school faculty
and members of the board of ed
ucation attended the evening ser
vices at the First Methodist
church last Sunday, where Dr.
flindrill delivered the baccalau
reate sermon. A number of tho
other churches in the city united
, in the service. A largo audience
was present.

Forest Olub to 'Hold Field Tour
naments. A plan was launched at the
last meeting of the Forest Club
to hold field tournaments at least
once . month during the coming
year. These, will be held on Sat
urday afternoons. -AU 'students
in the department together with
the professors- will participate.
They will all go to the count n
and there it is planned to camp
and practice packing horses,
packing men, rifles and revolv
ers, shooting, tent pitching, camp
cooking, estimating distances and
many other thing's which are es
sential for all-round fiold develop
ment of a forester and yet are not
included in ' the university cur
riculum or laboratory courses.
Besides gotting all this practi
cal experience, the. men expect
