Schools In the Old World Have
Courses In Botany Almost Identi
cal to Local Course.
Tho department of botany Is the re
cipient of a letter of recent date from
N. F. Peterson, 1907. In this letter Mr.
Peterson states that ho had a desire
to study botany in tho University of
Vopenhagen and wrote to tho head of
that department In the foreign school
and asked for their courses In ad
vanced botany. The head professor of
botany at Copenhagen, Professor Eu
gene Warming, replied to his letter
and stated that ho would not receive
any hotter or more advanced work at
that Institution aB he had taken In
the University of Nebraska work
which was almost Identical with the
course In advanced botany as it is ar
ranged in tho University of Denmark.
Dr. Warming enclosed In tho letter a
Hat of tho courses as offered In his
school, and in his letter to tho local
department Mr. Peterson enclosed this
list, and It Is almost Identical with
rtho courso offered at Nebraska.
This gives to tho loaders of tho lo
cal school extreme pleasure to think
and find out definitely that Nebraska
Is on a plane with ttie' foreign univer
sities as regards tho courses offered In
certain branches of scientific studies.

money to oxpend than thoy have had
In tho past. According to tho present
plans tho annual ylll also contain from
125 to 200 pages. Tho paper used in

reproduction of tho photographs and
drawings used in tho illustrations.
