Professor Georgo E. Howard, head
of the department of political science
and sociology, lectured yesterday af
ternoon at 4 o'clock to Rhetoric 22,
the intercollegiate debating seminar,
on "Tho Federal .Income Tax." This

Cleaning Guns.
For the past week the members of
the cadet companies of the first bat
talion havo been receiving their gunB.
T;hese rifles are of the old Springfield
or Krag-Jorgenson typo, of a 1908
model. They have been issued to all
tho companies and' the officers of tho
companies are occupying tho drill
hours now Instructing the cadets in
the manual of arms.
These rifles are furnished to the
members of tho cadet companies by
tho government and are the property
of the war department All damage
to the" guns aro 'to bo charged up to
the cadets, and on account of their
age must bo handled with care.
