Registration is practically closed at the University of Chicago, and the fig ures show a total of 2,339. a net In crease of 14 over the corresponding quarter of last year. Tho incoming class shows an increase of 32, numbering 438 (257 men and 181 women), as against 40G (209 men, 197 women) last year. Dean Burnett to Represent the Uni versity at Ceremony. In response to invitations from the State Agricultural College of Kansas, Dean Burnett will represent the Uni versity of Nebraska at the ceremonies incident to the installation of a new president of that college. Henry Jack son Waters Is the man who is to hend the Kansas institution. BRYAN PRIZE RULES ANNOUNCED Annual Award to Be Made Student Contributing Beat Escay on Political 8ubject. Announcements were posted yestor day of the Bryan prize, given each year for a thesis on some subject pertain ing to the science of government. Tlie topic for this year's competition is, "How Far "and on What Grounds Should the State Control and Provide for the Machinery of Politics." The contest 1b open to junlora, seniors and graduato students- who have not taken their second dogreo Tho prize this year will bo twenty dol lars, or ten dollars more than last year. The reason for this increase is that no prize was awarded last year, and as the prize is the Income from tx certain amount of money deposited for that purpose, tho prize Is the lncomo for two years, instead of one as In for mer years. Tho judges for the competition will consist of one professor of political science and one professor of .English of tho university, and one constitu tional lawyer also chosen by tlie chan cellor. Tho thesis must be in by May 1. and, tho award will bo road at the commencement exercises.
