8ENIOR BREAKFA8T.
Tho annual breakfast of tho senior
class, usually given early in tho
spring, is to bo hold this year in tho
fall. Tho date Bet for tho occasion is
next Saturday, and tho commlttoo in
chargo 1b working hnrd to mako tho
affair unusually BUCcesBful.
Tho breakfast should have tho sup
port and by that is meant tho per
sonal attendance of ovory senior. It
is ono of tho fow real traditions which
tho university possesses, and for that
reason, if for no other, it should bo
loyally supported.
But, entirely aside from a question
of loyalty, yio senior who 'omits tho
class breakfast from his favored on
tertainmonts makes a mistake. He de
prives himsolf of a good time such aB
ho won't have again during Ills collego
career. Tho breakfast has about it an
Informal pleasuro which no other uni
versity affair possesses and Its very
novelty insures a good time.

THE GAME TODAY.
University students who havo a lit
tlo time to sparo today will do well to
attend the York-Lincoln high school
gamo on Nebraska field at 3 p. m.
Thoo two high schools are close ri
vals in athletic lines and tho game
this aftornoon promises to bo a pretty
contost. Both York and Lincoln havo
a habit of turning out excellent. toamB
aud this year 1b no exception "to tho
rule. York.possoBses such faith in its
aggregation that it has guaranteed nTi
attondnnco Of 200 York rooters who
expect to seo Lincoln dofeato'd by a
good score. Lincoln is equally con
lldcnt. In viow of tho fact that Lincoln high
school does much for university ath
letics, both by attendance at the
games and by sending forth annually

A Nebraska student now at work in
a western stato writos to one of his
former teachers with n complaint as
to tho status of his alma mater in the
wost. According to his statement,
which may bo assumed as correct In
view of tho known charactor of tho
correspondent, tho neonlo nf tho went
do not appreciate tho good work done
at Nebraska. Thov fall tn pnnnirtnr
this institution at all in deciding where
to send their sons and daughters, and
consequently most of them journey
farther east to obtain culture which
they might Just as well get at Ne
braska. If this criticism applies to all parts
of tho west as it does to this particu
lar locality, Nebraska students and
alumni had indeed bettor seek an im
mediate remedy. This university
should have Its share of the east-bound
students, and it is up to her repre
sentatives in the west to do their best
to change the present condition. Their
personal efforts count for more than
SPECIAL
nil the long-distance advertising thnt
the university can do.
What applies to tho alumni of tho
west is equally truo of those in all
sections of tho country. Natural prido
in their alma mater should lead these
men and women to boost for Nebraska.
Nebraska university can deliver tho
goods and her "old grads" need have
no fear of not acting for tho best In
tedests of prospective students by rec
ommonding this university to thorn.
