tary department that all applications
for promotion in tho university cadet

held a smoker at the Sigma Chi fra
ternity houso, last ovening. A social
time was engaged in, and plans wore
discussed for tho coming competltivo
drill. Company colors woro distributed.
All camp fees wero paid by tho
cadet battalion last night. It had
been announced that all of these fees
must be paid by Thursday evening
under penalty of ten demerits each
day after this date to all those who
neglected to pay up.
Two lectures will bo delivered to
the members of tho college of law to
day, by Mr. Lano, a prominent speak
er on legal subjects. The first lecture
will be given at 9:30 and tho second
at 1:30, in tho law lecture room. Mr.
Lano will speak on subjects of espe
cial interest to the membors of the
junior law class.

Sidney Silber, the noted pianist,
gave a recital at convocation yester
day morning which was appreciated
by a largo audience. To say that
Mr. Sllber's playing was excellent
would bo like commending ono of
Mr. Turner's pictures as beautiful. Mr.
SUber is repognized as an artist
throughout the country and his work
yesterday was only another evidence
of the fact that he, is one of America's
greatest i pianists. '
