fessor of his coveted, facial adorn
ment. Tho trouble which culminated Fri
day night began several days ago
when tho students preseted a request
that Professor Whitney remove bis

Professor Whitney went to prayer
meeting Friday night, as was his cus
tom. Ho left tho place of the meet
ing at tho close of tho session and
started homo acroHs tho campus. The
pathway led under the trees which
ornament the university grounds and
their shadows furnished an excellent
hiding place for tho students who
had designs on tho professor's wills-
