HEARS COMMITTEES REPORT
Miss. Helen Day Elected Vice Presi
dent, Miss Nielson Is Secretary
and Mr. Hamel Was Chosen
as Treasurer.
The seniors held tholr second class-
meeting at 11:30 this morning for
tho election of the remaining pfllcer3.
Tho president was the only officer
elected at the meeting held a short
tlmb auo.
Elmor W. Hill, the president electod
to succeed Guy M. Mattcson, opened
the meeting with a brief speech. H'
expressed his faith in and' admiration
for the clnsH, saying that each mem
ber of this class going out into the
world would bo remembered as be
longing to that class and would b
pointed to with prldo as a man or
woman from the class of 1909.
He signified his intention of doing
his best for the class, and he declared
that ho wished to show his gratitude
for the honor the class hnd conferred
upon him by hir service to the clnss
rather than In words.
Announces no Committee.

Tne class next proceeded to tho-
electlon of officers. Miss Helen Day
was nomlnnted for vice president by
Hubert O. Bell, and aftor a motion
closing tho nominations, was unanlv
moualy eleotod. Mr, Matteson then
nominated Miss Nielson for secretary,
who waB eletjted by acclamation. The
only contested election was that of
treasurer. Mr Bates In an eloquent
appeal to tho class, nominated W. A.
Kelley for that office. A. G. Hamel
was nominated in a short but forceful
speech by James Cory. The. nomina
tions were then closed, and on the
president's calling for a rising vote,
Mr. Hamel was elected by a largo
majority. Tho remaining office, that
of sergeant-at-arms, was conferred
upon Mr. Mattesdn, the rotlrlng' presi
dent, who was nominated by Mr. Cory
and unanimously elected.
After the officers wore' disposed of
tho reports of tho various committees
woro 'called, for. Tho chairman pf the
social committee,' Ira, S. Bigger, re
ported ?23 receipts and $22.12 expen
ditures from the senior kid mask
party, which left a balance of 88
cents. ,
, Miss Holcomb reported the senior
play as .under way, and appealed to
the class to pay up their dues as
tho committee wore in need of fundB
for the carrying on of the work. Miss
Gray reported the unanimous selection
of tho class pin nnd also the fact thnt
tho company from which the pin had
been secured had sent an agreement
to furnish tho pin at tho same price,
$2.00, to all of the succeeding classes.
Mr. Hill here reported trpon the de
cision reached regarding the Senior
Day, which is to bo substituted for
sneak day. Tho class has recelveed un
official permission to sneak, the day
not being known to any but the fac
ulty. It was given out, however, that
this event will bo held about the first
of May. Mr. Hills intends to appoint
a social committee with complete au
thority over tho planB for the carrying
out of tho senior day program, The
other commlttco reports which were
to have .been disposed of had to bo
deferred on account of tho absence
of their respective chairman.

The dramatic club have lowered the
Di ice of admission to 25 cents, and
it cheaper than thnt of any
previous production of this kind. This
was done with tho intention of mak
Ing the play available to everyone
and If this experiment is a success it
will be carried out in the future.
Another play to bo given soon by
the club 1b "Monsieur Beaucalre." In
this production Mr. Guy Montgomery
will star. The club also announceB
the coming of Mr. Tripp, on March 9.
Mr. Tripp will take up the entire
evening with selections from Dickens.
