MEMBERS EXCUSED fROM CLASS
Pictures Will First Be Shown at the
NatlonaTCom Show at Omaha
Later To Be Shown Through-
out the Country.
As soon as fair weather permits the
cadet battalion of tho university will
go to tho state fnrm, where moving
pictures will bo made of their evolu
tions. TIioho pictures are being made
to exhibit at the national corn show
which will be held In Omaha next
month.
When tho order of the commandant
concerning this became Known on the
campus It created no little stir and a
great dual of speculation as to tho
cause of such action. It Is, howovcr,
part ofn plan to show In dotnll at tho
national corn show the work thnt tho
agricultural schools of the country aro
doing In preparing the future farmers.
Aftor tho pictures have been shown
at Omaha they will be shown through
out the west to farmers and will not
only perform tho invaluable work of
showing what tho agricultural schools
of the country aro doing, but they
will also bo a big advertisement for
that part of tho University of Ne
braska known as the agricultural
school.
Many Pictures Made.
Pictures aro not only being made of
different student activities but also
of things connected with the real work
of the school, such as stock judging
and the operation of agricultural ma
chinery. Many scenes nave already
been taken at Ames and will bo re
produced In Omaha, together with the
ones taken at Nebraska.
From present Indications It seems
likely that the pictures of the bat
talion will bo taken next Monday or
Tuesday. It Is not believed that the
weather will be settled enough to per
mit their being taken before that tlpio.
It will require, in all about two hours
from the time the battalion leaves
here until It returns, and arrange
ments have been made lor members
of the battalion having classes during
this time to be excused. On what
ever day it Is decided to take the pic
tures, th battalion will leave the mil-
i versuy m i o ciuciv.
( Take Review Formations."
, No special formations will be given.
but simply the regular review forma
tions. The Pershing Rifles will give a
j separate drill on this occasion. Cap-
, tain Worki.er declares that Instead of
I marching the battalion to I he Farm
1 special street cars will be used. tluiB
i saving much time.
The corn show, at which these plc-
1 tares will be exhibited, Is. the second
national corn exposition. It has at-
I traded wide-spread attention and Is
I being given enthusiastic support by
many of the most prominent 'won of
tho country. It Is calculated that It
will -have a groat Influence In promot
ing the Improvement of corn growing
and increasing the seleiiUHc knowl
edge of the farmeiconcernlng the va
rieties of corn best suited "to his sur
roundings. Saturday's Football Results.

What is undoubtedly ftfcc of the
strongest and most pleasing hills of
the HotiHon Is tho offering nt the Ma
jestic for this week. Instead of a
single headllner. os usual, the pro
gram this week contains two acts of
oqunl merit. Resides the two spoelnl
features the bill has several other
strong attractions.
Lending all In Interest to university
students Is "An Incident In a College
Dormitory" presented ly Johnnie Mc
Veigh nnd his college girls. The act
is a clever skit or song and dance that
affords a tono of rich merriment. The
Rlrls aro fairly pretty nnd that Is
saying a great deal those days when
It Is hard to find feminine beauty on
the stage. They dance well and per
form better than their mnle colleague-
Frank Tlnney with his "And He
Did" is much superior to the average
black lace comedian. He produces
twenty minutes of laughter at .every
performance.
Ethel McDonough, called "The (Jlrl
Rehlnd the Drum," is a star In her
class and produces a novel act.
Henri French, in a mimic and im
personator roll, shows exceptional
ability.
Tho charles C. Bnrnham company
In "Aftor the Election"' -nnd Murray K.
Hill & company In "Tho Lust Surviv
or." are oapltol entertainers.
The Vlascope this week has the host
line of pictures shown at the Majestic
