The game started with the Sophs at
bat. Jeffords hit safe, but was caught
trying to pilfer second base. Bell aud
Matters proved easy for Schmid, they
going down in one-.lwo-three order. In
their half the Seniors poked out five
singles and, assisted by errors, were
able to circle the bags five times.
In the last half of the second they
ran in three more, making them 8 to
tho good.
In tho fourth tho Sophs r;ot their
first run on an error and wild heave
of catcher to second. Fun'.tu took
Johnson's place in the box nnd thoro
was nothing doing till tho eighth,
while In their half the Sophs hoored
on a scratch-hit iind -two -bad errors.
The Seniors, however, come back with
two more to retain their lead of seven
runs.
In the ninth Matters fouled to Allen,
Buol batted a hot one to Matt'son,
who easily cut him off at first, and
Johnson bit to Smith, and it was all
over.
The Seniors, easily outplayed their
opponents in all phases of the game
except, perhaps, in base-running. Most
of tho hits credited to the Sophs were
duo to the fact that there were but
