' Bohemian Lecture.
Miss Sarah Hrbek, Instructor in
Bohemian, will give tin illustrated, lec
ture at the "Komensky" Club meet
ing tomorrow (Friday) evening. Most
of the slides arc illustrative of the
scenery of Yellowstone National Park,
but in addition to this she also has
some slides illustrating the costumes
of the people and style of houses of
ancient Bohemia, which ought to bo
of especial Interest to Bohemians.
The lecture will be given in Uni
versity Hall, room 2i:i, at 8 p. m. A
smnll admission fee will be charged to
defray expenses.

Judge Tuttle gave the third of his
lectures to the Laws Monday night
on "Wills and Probate Matter." It la

ter attended.
Meeker is said to have lost his

Hubenbecker is spending the re
mainder of the week at his McCool
Junction home, where he will spend
Sunday.

A. M. Smith has returned from n
short visit home. He lives at Daven
port. Professor Wilson, at roll call yes
terday, welcomed Balrd back to
classos again. Balrd has just recov
ered from a serious siege of diphthe
ria. Okoy was stung on the jury again.

Cornell has reduced her football
schedule to nine games, all played on
Saturdays. University of Chicago
will be played at Chicago instead of
the game at Princeton. Swarthmore
has also been dropped from the
schedule.
The petition at Minnesota for a
course in journalism is growing. All
academic faculty members ap
proached are in favor of it and all
that is needed is tho approval of tho
board of regents.

At Michigan the senior law students
gave. an annual dance on April 1, and
served writs of subpoena on the girls
they wished to take by way of In
vitations. The French club of the University
of Michigan will tour France and
other European countries next year.
The club will present French plays at
various universities in Franco.
A new .GO.000 dormitory will bo
erected at Pennsylvania on the site of
the university dining hall.

Purude university is making prepar
ations for its first annual circus. The
committee in charge has Btudied the
manner in which these circuses are
managed in Wisconsin, Cornell and
Illinois and Is making extensive prep
arations. All participants will- take
part in the parade and silver cupn
will be given as prizes.
Professor Julius Goebel, lecturer at
Harvard Germanic Muesum and one
of tho foremost German scholars in
tho United States, has been appointed
head of German at the University of
Illinois to take up his new duties
September 1.
