The annual Home Concert in which
the University Glee Club appear to
day is an event towards which the
members have worked for many
weeks. (Every concert which the club
bas thus far given has been but a
preparation for this, the climax of the
season. In the programs to bo ren
dered today only the best is offered.
There is not an old thing on the pro
gram, Furthermore, the matinee is
not to be a dress rehearsal. The af
ternoon "program promises to be fully
as good as the evening entertainment.
The two programs will be Identical.
Bach will be la three parts the first
containing the heavier class of music,
the second 'being a song recital by
Mlsa 'Adah Castor, accompanied 'by the
club, and the third, consisting of a
farce, "Uncle Tom's -Cabin."

University Glee Club on Their Way
Classic musical numbers will be
rendered to ehow the range of the
club. Interspersed among these will
be comical songs and lighter num
bers. George "Ireland, the whistling
bard7 will-add enjoyment to the occa
sion by one of his old time favorites.
Miss Adah Castor, the soloist of the'
club, possesses a voice of unusual
power and dramatic ability. Accom
panied by Miss Lillian Elohe with a
'cello obligate, Miss Castor will sing
Massenet's "Elegy." The well known
character of this number is indicative
of Miss Castor's ability.
In "Uncle Tom's Cabin," an original
production by "Crip" Kimmel, some
of the august faculty are found clus
tering about Little Eva, who insists
on dying despite Undo Tom's pro
tests. "Uncle Tom's""Cabln" is the
first effort of the faculty in minstrelsyf
Lincoln Is a wet town, and the faculty
appreciate the fact by giving a pro
gram which Is decidedly not dry.
The whole program has been care
fully worked out. Able men are as
signed to the various parts and with
out doubt the concert will be worth
hearing.
Cornell and Princeton .will not ,play
football next year. , Cornell authori
ties declare1 that Princeton declined
to renew the three-year agreement
which called tor a, game in Ithaca.

Story of the Accomplishments of Ne
braska's Former Glee Clubs.
In the past three years theUnlver
slty Glee Club has met with more
varied fortunes thanhas probably
any other organization of the school.
Financial troubles, earthquakesj and
moral questions have all had a part
In agitating affairs.
Two years ago there was "much ex
citement over the two-thousand-dollar
deficit which the club faced, as a re
sult of financial mismanagement. The
big western trip had to be abandoned
because of the outbreak of Dame Na
ture on the Pacific coast. A trip
through the state helped but little In
the effort to float the stranded finan
cial derelict. Civil actions In Lincoln
courts and threats of criminal prose
cutions served to add spice to the
Hvob of theTblub members.
Last year theCblorado trip was a
pronounced success. The finances
were managed in a satisfactory man
ner and all bills were promptly met.
The club was too used to sensation,
however, to endure a position outside
the limelight The organization broke
into print under the headllnes,"Sang
Rag Time .in M. E, Church," "Dance
Steps in a Puipit," "Glee Club .Mem

The large cabinet will have . picnic
in the woods out by the penitentiary
next Saturday afternoon. The girls
are to meet on the corner of Tenth
and O, at 2:30 to take the car. The
cabinet expects to have a splendid
time and it is desired that all the
girls shall be there. A business meet
ing will be held. ... if
The date for the May Morning
Breakfast has been set for May 9.. It
is expected that this, .breakfast will
excel even that of last year. It will
be held, as usual, In St Paul's church.
Details will be given later.
