DR. LEES' OPINION.
(Continued from pago ono.)
proposition is the one to bo ndoptod,
I am not decided.
"The matter of a change in the elec
tion system was suggested by myself
at a meeting of a committeo of the
board. I thought some reform desir
able in order to bring about a greator
Interest in athletic matters, but I had
no Idea of stirring up such a hornet's
net as has developed.
"I have told the committee that any
plan which they might dovlso further
ing the creation of greater interest
would be acceptable to me. But I do
not think that the election Bhould bo
thrown open to all students, regard
less of their attitude toward athletics.
1 do not know what action I would
take on the plan as It now stands."
Elocution.
"The Man of Destiny," by George
Bernard Shaw, was presented Wednes
day morning to Rhetoric 36 by several
members of the class. The cast was
as follows:
Napoleon Bonaparte Aldls llibnor
A Strange Lady Neva Hibner
A Lieutenant H. P. Letton
Gulseppe, innkeeper S. A. Erskine
The scene of the plot was in north
ern Italy rind the time, two days after
the battle of Lodl, 1796. The play
was in ono act and was very cleverly
presented.
Union Program.
The newly elected officers of the
Union Society will give a novel pro
gram Friday evening. Just what the
nature of this program will be no
one seems to know, but if Buster
Brown is an- authority, it will be
worth your while to be present. A
"perfect lit" is guaranteed and Buster
predicts that even the "Elite" will bo
surpassed. He also assures us that
TJge will be there. However, there
will bo but one performance, so come
early and get a good seat.
