men; hence a difference. Tradition
does authorize a man's bestowing a
membership upon., a girl, (kin you
blame a man, then, for seeking voters
for his side from among girls? Or
can you blame a girl for accommodat
ing a man friend on matters concern
ing mon's athletics, when some man
friend seeks her out and takes her to
vote?
If girls do not give deep thought to
the matter of voting for candidates for
the board supervising men's athletics,
how deep thought or responsibility
would the men feel about voting on
something concerning girls' athletics?
The girls would probably not mind
their voting; some would doubtless
enjoy recruiting among them; but
very "Intelligent" voting would certain
ly not be expected of them.
If men want girls In those voting
contests for the added Interest or for
the financial benefit to the association,
it Is natural enough. If they do not
want the girls In, that is natural
enough, too. In the great matter
which interests the equal suffrage
club, both justice and expediency are
Involved. In this matter of athletic
board elections, It is expediency only
which is involved. Therefore the
equal suffrage club remains neutral.
Very- truly,
EQUAL SUFFRAGIST.
