reach Lincoln ngnin on its second
cross- continent tour. The big company
with its own symphony oichostra of
nearly fifty people started on Its con
tinental tour during Christmas weok,
aftor the Philadelphia engagement.

pany has its own chartered train of
baggage cars, coaches and Pullman
sleepers, and will reach this city on
Tuesday, March 3rd.
Frank C. Payno who has beon geu
oral representative' for the English
Grand Opera Company since it was
first introduced here, arrived from
Denver yesterday to malce all prelim
inary arrangements for the return of
the big company.
"It requires the courage of a Henry
W. Savage," said Mr. Payno, "to
chance such an expensive itinerary In
a theatrical season, that Is already
marked with numerous failures. 'Mud
am Buttorfly' in order to pay expenses
must play to an average of $3,000 a
day on its western trip this yoar. The
corps of principals is larger than last
year and the orchestra is even a finer
body of musicians. This city Is to
have a caBt made .up of celebrated
songbirds who recently appeared with
the company during its second New
York run at Mr. Savage's Garden The
ater. This will include Rena Vlvlenne,
thef only American girl out of the four
Madam Butterflies who won spectacu
lar success In the role last year. Wo
still have the two fine contraltos, Har
riett Behnee and Ethel Houston, who
sang last year, but the company is
stronger than ever in the tenor forces.
Four brilliant voices have beonadded
including Vernon Stiles-'and William
St. Willis who Bang the role of Pink
er ton In New York; Herr Kurt Do'nath,
who recently arrived from Berlin and
joined the company in New Orleans,
William Hubbell, one of tho most
promising young Americans Mr. Sav
age has discovered. The baritones in
clude Thos D. Richards who created
the role of- Sharpless in Americ aand
Ottley Cranston, who was brought
back from London especially for tho
part. 'Mr. Cranston made many friends
In Lincoln when he was hero two years
ago.
