In a stubbornly contested gamo, full of hard line smashing and ond runs, mingled with nn occasional forward paw, the Sophomores triumphed ovor the Juniors yesterday afternoon by tho score of 11 to 0. The Juniors played on tho defen sive the greater part of tho gamo and woro unable to check" tho rushes of the Sophomores. On about tho Junior 20-yard lino tho Sophomores tried a forward pass; which was blocked by n Junior, but Slaughter, playing left end for tho Sophomores, rocoverod tho ball and ran for a touchdown. Goal was kicked. Sophomores 6, Juniors 0. Failing to gain through tho Sophomore- lino, Boll Was forced to punt, in whirlwind fashion. Slaughter cnught up tho ball mut fell ovor thj goal lino In tho northwest cornor of the field for a Becond touchdown. Falllng'to catch tho kick out, forfeited the try for goal. The class of 1911 has certainly made a nice start so far and seems to con tain all the material necessary to make everything it undertakes a buc dess. At Its first informal held last Saturday evening, there was a ca pacity crowd and tho members of the committee report tha the informal cleared about $20 to the 'class after all expenses had been paid.
