BAND MAY GO.
Effort Being Made to 8end It to Law
rence.
A moveemnt Is on foot to raise
money for tho purposa of tho sending
tho Cadot Band to tho KnnBas-Ne-brnrftn
gnmo nt Lawrence Saturday.
A subscription paper will bo sent
around today In an offtirt to get the
desired amount.
Tho band wns sent to Chicago last
year at a time when only a few root
ers wont and wns able to give much
encouragement to tho team through
Its music.
The fact that few rooters aro go
ing to Lawrence Is a good reason why
the band should bo sent, for the boys
surely can help make a big showing
for Nebraska.

It should not bo forgotton that tho

does not strike terror to tho hearts
of thoso who havo consistently nnd
day by day dono tho work assigned
to them, but to tho unfortunates who
from ono cause or anothor have nog
lected so to do, the case Is different.
Tho next row woolcs should be usod ns
tlmo for redemption by thoso who
are behind In their work. And while
cramming is not regarded as tho
proper method of mastering any sub
ject, It Ib not tho part of wisdom to
let oxnmlnntlons come on without any
attempt at extra preparation espe
cially on tho part of the' student who
feols that such preparation Is neces
sary. A very groat doal can be ac
complished even in a comparatively
short tlmo by good steady work and
any student realizing that he is not
up in his courses who will not omploy
tho next fow weoks to his own ad
vantage will have no one to blnmo for
his failuro oxcopt hlmsolf. Don't fail
