KEEP IT CLEAN. There Is considerable sentiment around, over tho general unkempt ap pearance of the campus grounds, duo for tho moHt purl to waste papor and nibblHh of variotiH kinds lying about. Tlu proHenco of waste pnpor, it Is fair to aHHiuno, can bo nccrodltod to care lessness on tho part of students, while the accumulation of much of the other rubbish Is due to recent building. Hut this explanation is not sufficient,; a student can not bo Justified for per mitting his waste papor to be deposit ed any place but In the receptacles provided for that purpose and to bo found In convenient places upon the campus, and furthermore the men for police duty should not permit such rubbish or the rubbish result lug from building to cumber the campus for more than a reasonable time. This perhaps, Is not the most vital question relating to University mattors Iningln ablo, but surely the appearance of tho campus should be a subject of gener al as well as Individual Interest. The first thin that comes to tho notice of strangers upon ontorlng the campus gates Ih tho appertranco of tho grounds YOUR Should receive prompt attention when thoVe is any indication of weakness. After a thorough examination they should be fitted with a pair of becoming glasses. We have every style of fra,me and mounting and tho best lenses. Don't think that if you once start to wearing glasses you will always have to wear them Many times a few weeks or months will put your eyes In such good shape that you will not need glasses again until Presbyopia, or old sight sots In. Hallett, Graduate Optician, 1143 0 Street and buildings ana should they not show proper caro and attention, it Is a point against tho University. Tho students should realize that they have no right to thus projudlco. The University, in tho minds of strangers and the hired police should bo Instructed to bo moro careful and systematic In policing tho grounds. It would not Involve much labor or ex perience to havo tho grounds thorough ly policed every day and tho result of such action would bo a campus of much neater appearanco. It Is to bo hoped that In tho future duo caro will bo exorcised on tho part of the stu dents In this regard, thus stimulating tho hired police In keeping the enm pus as It should bo.
