Minnesota Freshman and Sopho
mores are preparing for their, annual
cane which Is to be pulled off next
Thursday.
Measurements for cadet uniforms
will be taken Monday from 2 to 12
and 1 to G in the Armory. A deposit
of $5.00 must be made with oach order.

partment has gone to Columbia uni
versity on a year's leave of absence
to do advanced work In ethnology and
sociology.

Mr. George Edwards, the noted
South American missionary and ex
plorer gave an interesting talk at
convocation yesterday, relating his ex
perience as a scout and missionary.
The Pershing Rifles request that
men who have not yot ordered their
cadet uniforms do so at once. Mon

charging machine built In Iowa City
and modeled after tho machines used
at the University of Chicago and
other western colleges. Tho machine
to be used In Iowa field this fall is
larger than tho one ordinarily em
ployed as the 'length Is sufficient to
allow seven men, the whole line to
charge against It. Its purpose is to
cultivate quickness in the forwards.
