CLASS CWTRACTS A SPECIALTY rwj At Convocation Tells of Proper Way to Live. Hon. Georgo F. Williams of Boston spoko at Convocation yesterday upon experiences which cannot be gained thru reading nor thru speech. All his suggestions were personal and intend ed to aid us as students. Our success, Mr. Williams said, depends very large ly upon whnt wo inherit from our pa rents. Father and mother are the most important influence in a man or woman's life. Strong constitution and good health causo differences in hu man nature, and wo are not responsi ble for these advantages or disadvan tages of heredity. Wo should bestow mercy upon our less fortunate fellows and bo charitable in our Judgments. Many studying men do not under stand the duty thty owo to country, nor how little they give in return for the products and blessings of labor, sacrifice, bloodshed and martyrdom. In his own life he spoko of the law book ho published and how two years afterward ho was recommended for the odltorlship of an annual book be cause of his caro and accuracy dis played. Any thoro work, even the done for the merest pittance, Is always worth while. What wo do' and think is largely a matter of habit, and strength of life consists In forming good habits so that methods may be come involuntary. As soon as a man thinks ho knows it all, at that mo ment his usefulness and development coase. Borrowing trouble Is largely a habit and sixty per cent of our energy is spent in worry. What is a typical old maid but a wry faced, sour indi vidual, fretting and worrying over trifles. Men may bo old maids, too, for the cynic's interests havo found no mate and wo get nothing good from him. When people get despondent bo sure there is something wrong physic ally and remedy that first. Ho sounded a wnrnlng noto against selfish purposes, for true pleasure In life consists In what wo give to oth ers, not what wo receive. Do not lose the capacity for enjoying human things, but keep your soul overflowing for the good of humanity. Live for your country and for the good of your fellow men, and when all else Is gone keep your laugh. Don't bo bribed against the interests of humanity, but develop talent and strength and there will be money to buy it PHI DELTA PHI nmmMitwitu Rutoiibli Print HUYLER'S Chocolates and Bon Bona.
