boast is the Temple, and It is easily
possible to concelvo of a better build
ing than It will bo. It would be hard
to Imagine Nebraska University in pos
session of a three hundred and flfty
thousand dollar building, but every
body who is not prejudiced knows that
such would be none too good. Such
buildings have a cultural value in and
of themselves, but there Is no room
for argument. ATho University to keep
up with the rest of the schools In the

to grasp every opportunity to get more

Alpha Theta Chi and Delta Tau Delta

Freshman Preliminaries.
The Freshman preliminaries woro
pulled off last Saturday afternoon;
tho meot was qulto successful, tho first
year men showing up very well. Those
who will go to Mornlngslde will bo
selected somo time this week. The
Freshmen should be able to show the
Mornlngsido athletes an Interesting
time and bring credit to themselves
and the University.
This movo in tho direction of creat
ing an interest in Freshman athletics
should prove mbst beneficial to tho
athletic. Interests of tho University,
and Is most highly to be commended.
Postponed Lecture.
At tho last regular meeting of tho
Forest Club, to bo held-Thursday at 8
p.' m. in N. 105, Dr. E. II. Harbour
will give an Illustrated lecture on "Fos
sil Evidences of Former Forests in
Nebraska and Elsewhere." TIiIb is the
leoturo that was postponed last week.

arrived after a jjolny in Colorado for
a short stay yesterday. Ho was one
of tho pupils In Dr. Besey's first class
at Ames In 1870, and is now recognized
as one of the foremost authorities of
tho world on tho subject of fungus
growths on plants.
Dr. Arthur was tho guest of Dean
